THE OLympic playground GAMES; NEW GAMES IN THE PLAYGROUND

During the Olympic Playground Games, playground equipment is reinvented. That way you get to know the playgrounds in your neighborhood and also your neighbors! Children and the elderly play the games in teams. The Playground Games focus on five different elements: creativity, sportiness, concentration, perseverance and collaboration. These social elements ensure that everyone can participate and you don’t necessarily have to be the fastest. The games vary from chair hockey to running down a course and building a tower with sponges. Powerboat has organized the Games several times in Oosterflank and Rotterdam North and again and again the children and the elderly are enthusiastic. Niké, goddess of victory, encourages the participants. Before the games, every team comes up with a yell. Afterwards, each team can stand on the winners block next to the Olympic fire and the yell is repeated. After the great successes, Powerboat hands over the Olympic Playground Games to the Jantje Beton Foundation, which will ensure that the Olympic Playground Games will be played throughout the Netherlands!
